Costs

Club Membership

Club membership runs from 1st August to 31st July. The fees include club membership and affiliation to Archery GB as well as Hertfordshire Archery Association and Southern Counties Archery Society. One of the benefits is that this gives you insurance cover and the ability to shoot at regional and national competitions as well as shooting at many other archery clubs nationwide as a visitor (Additional Visitor fees will likely apply).

The membership fee also covers all costs for outdoor shooting at club sessions during the year. The following tables show the costs for joining at the start of the year (August) as well as the reduced costs for joining at various times through the year.

Membership Application

You can download and complete our membership application form. You must have passed an AGB approved beginner’s course before you can shoot with us. If you did not do your beginners course with us we will need to see your beginner’s course certificate, or your AGB membership card. Lapsed AGB members may of course apply to join, subject to proof of previous membership, a brief safety assessment and after payment of the club’s annual membership fees.

Indoor Winter Venue

For the time being, we’re charging £5.00 per person per session, payable on the night, to cover the costs of renting the sports hall at Melbourn Village College. If all goes well (and so far it is very promising) we may offer an alternative additional membership fee at a reduced rate.

Visitors

Visitors with valid AGB membership are welcome to come along to any of our club sessions. A £5 target fee will be due before each session. Visitors will be watched during their first end to ensure they meet our safety standards.

Beginners Courses

Beginners courses currently cost  £60 for four two-and-a-half-hour sessions which are run according to the guidelines from Archery GB. All equipment during the course will be provided. If you then choose to join the club, you will be able to use the club equipment during club shoots free of charge for a further three months. After this there will be a small hire charge. We are happy to give advice on purchase of personal archery equipment and may be able to accompany you to a suitable shop to purchase your equipment if requested.
