As part of the town twinning event from Großalmerode at the weekend, several of the German town’s arch- ers visited England and made contact with Royston Heath Archery Club. Members of the club travelled to Hertford to participate in the 2016 Heidi Blewett Memorial Shoot. The ‘competition’ is very relaxed and prizes are awarded for things such as soggiest scorecard and most blacks shot during the round rather than the top score. Royston Heath’s Jack Corps was selected for the Hertfordshire County Team that shot at the 2016 SCAS Intercounties Competition in Oxford on the 10th of September. Royston Heath sent a large contingent to the 2016 Hertfordshire County Western in Stortford. Congratulations to all who can away with medals, especially Michael who won the county recurve trophy, Peter who won the county compound trophy and Fraser who won the county junior longbow trophy. Royston Heath had an archer participate in the 1440 round at the Penicuik Pick N’ Mix weekend in Edinburgh this weekend. Results can be found here.
Three members of the Club travelled to our neighbours in Hinxworth for their annual invitational. It was a windy day however some good scores were shot by those in attendance. Full Results can be found here.
Three archers from Royston Heath travelled to Silver Arrow in Edlesborough for their 1st Summer Open WA70m Shoot. It was a great day shooting where the sun shone and the wind stayed away. Congratulations to Jamie who shot his first 1st Class score at the competition. Results can be found here.
Royston Heath held a charity shoot in aid of Home-Start Royston and South Cambridgeshire. The rounds shot were WA900 and some shorter variations for juniors and novices. A total of £85 was raised on the day for the charity. Thank you to all who came along and contributed towards this worthy cause.
Royston Heath sent members to the 2016 SCAS/BCAA Double WA 1440 Tournament in Ampthill on the 16th of July. Congratulations to Mike and William on their World Archery Stars and to Jack, Jamie, Paul, William and Mike on earning English Cross Awards. Results from the weekend can be found here.
