County Western 2017

The 46th Hertfordshire County Western Tournament was hosted at Bishop Stortford on Sunday 3rd of September and Royston Heath Archery Club members performed very well with three archers winning trophies. Deborah Martin got the gold in the Ladies First Class Recurve bow and also the overall ladies recurve trophy. Yvonne Clapham won gold in the Ladies Second Class Compound bow and she received the overall compound trophy. In the Gents Third Class Recurve bow Coomaren Vencataswawmy won silver and Sam Pavey won bronze. We also winners in the Longbow class with Philippa Martin winning silver in the Ladies Third Class and Fraser Clapham winning the gold in the Gents Under 14 Third Class and the overall Junior longbow trophy. We also had the highest scoring archer in the competition with Michael Wright scoring 794 (out of a possible 864) in the Bowman class, but unfortunately there are no awards for Bowmen in this competition.
